links: Easter

I'm going to experiment with using more images in links posts. A lot of these were found using Pinterest [1], which I have been liking a lot. Minimal Easter Eggs [2] at Pickles. Very simple idea decorating eggs using white puffy paint, I love this. Instructables [3] project but I like these because she uses Golden Syrup, which I'm having a bit of a crush on at the moment. Wheat Grass at Design Mom. Good practical tips for growing wheat grass as a project for Spring. Crepe Paper Surprise Carrots [4], at Martha Stewart. Just like surprise balls [5] and pretty darn cute. Secret Message Easter Egg [6], made by Present&Correct [7] and seen over at Poppy Talk [8]. This is so sweet. Pixie Dust Easter Egg favor [9], at Family Fun. A very cute idea. Delicious Days [10]. a few things

Earlier this month Product Body [1] offered a discount code and a few people had some trouble, so she's fixed it up and extended the deadline through the end of June. Enter NOTMARTHA15 for 15% off when you?re checking out. Valid for everything on the site except the Scrub of the Month club, use as often as you'd like. I'll also mention that School House Craft [2] is still offering 20% off for any ticket combination to the conference. Enter notmartha when you buy your tickets. This will be good up until the event (in September!). And finally there is a pretty neat thing happening here in Seattle this Thursdsay, June 16th: Moveable Type coming to Seattle's Central District! June 16th, 5-8pm at Miss Cline Press shop 2370 East Cherry (cherry & 23rd ave) Join us for a printing party to welcome the Moveable Type national tour on its first stop in Seattle. Moveable Type is a mobile print shop built into the back of an old delivery truck. The truck is owned by Kyle Durrie, the proprietor of Power and Light Press in Portland, Oregon. Kyle is starting a 9+ month tour across North America. The idea is to combine her two passions of traveling and printing. Now, the truck is ready and the adventure is just beginning. Her first stop in Seattle will be in the heart of Central District at Miss Cline Press shop. During her trip, Kyle will be visiting schools, art spaces, city parks, music and arts festivals, craft shows, parties, and anywhere else that has an interest in learning about printing the old fashioned way. Moveable Type will be setting up its mobile print shop outside Miss Cline Press on Thursday, June 16th for an evening of printing demos, studio/truck tours, and tall tales about life on the road. This event is free and open to the public, and participants can expect to get their hands dirty and make a few prints to take home with them. A priceless opportunity! Hope to see you there. the alphabet according to my browser

I recently found myself idly typing letters into my browsers location bar and noticing which sites it first suggests as an auto complete. So I made this list, which may or may not be an interesting alphabetic snapshot of the sites I've recently been visiting the most often. These don't reflect sites that I read obsessively in RSS and some results are surprising. (No Twitter or Pinterest? I'll have to figure out how that works.) A: Alicia Paulson [1], who was lovely enough to offer a copy of her book for the May giveaways B: The Beer Junction [2], a local beer shop and where I get Pliny the Elder and good advice on what other beer I might like (I'm an IPA lover) C: Cliff Mass [3], a local weather guru D: Design Mom [4], I love following her reports from France E: Epiphanie Bags [5], those lovely camera bags all the cool bloggers have (is now a good time to tell you I have one too?) F: Feedburner [6], I set up my feed through them before they became owned by Google, and I was so relieved that the switch over was seamless G: Grassroots Business Association [7], the small business group I'm a committee member of H: The Hairpin [8], it's where I get beauty advice [9] from a producer of This American Life (that sound? is a few of my worlds colliding) I: IMDB [10], for all those "that guy" look ups, I also like their collection of news [11] for updates on what is going on in movies and TV with just enough celebrity gossip thrown in J: Jordan Ferney [12], maker of excellent parties and surprises, and reporting from her move to Paris K: Knox Gelatine [13], research for a current project L: Luxirare [14], I'm in love with her posts about food [15] M: Musings of a Muse [16], where I get my makeup reviews N: NetShift [17], a neat little game made by foon, NetShift is the successor to BlackShift (which I liked even more but doesn't work on newer computers, sadly) O: Gmail [18]. Wait, Gmail? Apparently I don't visit sites that have O in them? How about Mrs. O [19]? Tom and Lorenzo [20]? Overstock [21]? C'mon browser! P: Posie Gets Cozy [22], Alicia again, I got sucked in by the adorable dog and kept reading Q: Ask Metafilter [23], not surprising in the least as it's all Qs R: Random.org [24], the number generator I use for giveaway winners S: School House Craft [25], a conference here in Seattle that I'll be at to talk about blogging with Blair from Wise Craft [26] and Molly from Orangette [27] T: Tom and Lorenzo [28], they who do Project Rungay and keep up commentary on all sorts of shows and red carpet events U: Ugly Green Chair [29], Whitney is one of my oldest blog-to-real-life friends! V: Voracious [30], a local Seattle food blog W: WTF with Marc Maron on PRX [31], these are a selection of WTF podcasts trimmed down to fit in a usual public radio slot and I'm so happy to see they are being picked up by public radio stations across the US (you should request it of your local station, just a suggestion -- I also suggest you listen to the WTF [32] podcast if you don't already) X: XKCD [33], I like this online comic so darn much Y: YouTube [34], this one is a surprise as I really don't spend much time on the site, though I did watch this fun fan-made Portal video yesterday: Outside Aperture [35] Z: Zappos [36], I recently panic-ordered a lot of shoes to try and they all arrived in one big box, it's so large I could curl up inside and ship myself back [1] http://aliciapaulson.com/ [2] http://www.thebeerjunction.com/ [3] http://cliffmass.blogspot.com/ [4] http://www.designmom.com/ [5] http://www.epiphaniebags.com/ [6] http://feedburner.google.com [7] http://grassrootsbusinessassoc.com/ [8] http://thehairpin.com/ [9] http://thehairpin.com/slug/how-to-be-a-girl [10] http://www.imdb.com/ [11] http://www.imdb.com/news/top [12] http://jordanferney.blogspot.com/ [13] http://www.knoxgelatine.com/ [14] http://luxirare.com [15] http://luxirare.com/make-pizza-without-dough/ [16] http://www.musingsofamuse.com/ [17] http://foon.co.uk/farcade/netshift/ [18] https://mail.google.com [19] http://mrs-o.org/ [20] http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ [21] http://www.overstock.com/ [22] http://rosylittlethings.typepad.com/ [23] http://ask.metafilter.com [24] http://www.random.org/ [25] http://schoolhousecraft.com/ [26] http://blairpeter.typepad.com/ [27] http://orangette.blogspot.com/ [28] http://www.tomandlorenzo.com/ [29] http://www.uglygreenchair.com/ [30] http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/voracious/ [31] http://www.prx.org/series/32112-wtf-with-marc-maron [32] http://www.wtfpod.com/ [33] http://xkcd.com/ [34] http://www.youtube.com/ [35] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NorZUFfpvC0 [36] http://www.zappos.com/
